About us
SAHREG automotive e.V. (Saxony-Anhalt Automotive Region) is the central competence network and cluster initiative for the automotive and supplier industry in Saxony-Anhalt. Established in late 2025 as a successor to previous regional structures, the association serves as the primary link between industrial companies, research institutions, and regional administration. Our objective is to secure and advance the technical capabilities of Saxony-Anhalt’s automotive sector during the global shift toward new drive systems.
SAHREG Automotive e.V. was established in 2025 as a specialized competence network for the automotive and supplier industry. Based in Saxony-Anhalt, the association functions as an interface between industrial application and scientific research. The board, led by Chairman Jens Lücke and Deputy Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Sobczyk, oversees the strategic direction together with Treasurer Felix Maximilian Briese and board members Dr. Caroline Krause, Nico Kämpfert, Iris Nauke, and Hans-Dieter Sonntag.
The technical focus of the network is twofold. Within the automotive sector, SAHREG prioritizes electric mobility for passenger vehicles and the implementation of hydrogen technology in commercial transport. Beyond automotive, the association promotes the transfer of these technologies into related industries such as defence, mining, shipbuilding, and rail transport. A central element of this work is the integration of automation and robotics to enhance production efficiency.
